About River Monsters
River Monsters ended on May 28, 2017, on Animal Planet. The show concluded after its ninth season, which aired in 2017. It was a series that followed host Jeremy Wade as he explored some of the world's most mysterious freshwater bodies.
River Monsters was a documentary-style action, adventure, and nature series that premiered in 2009. It focused on Wade's quest to find and catch enormous and often elusive fish, testing local myths and legends about supernatural freshwater predators. Traveling across the globe, Wade risked his life to uncover the truth behind these legendary creatures.
Jeremy Wade was the main host, and the show was rated 7.2 on TVMaze. Each episode had a runtime of approximately 63 minutes, during which Wade's adventures and encounters with extraordinary fish were documented.
