Is Riot Island coming back?

Riot Island ended on December 6, 2022, on CNA.

Riot Island was a crime documentary series that aired in 2022. The show examined the controversial experiment of an open-air prison on Pulau Senang, Singapore, during the 1950s, where hardened criminals were held without bars or guards. It explored the project's inception, its ambitious goals, and its eventual catastrophic failure, culminating in a deadly riot and the murder of the superintendent.

The series provided a detailed recounting of this pioneering yet flawed penal experiment. Through gripping reconstructions, archive footage, and interviews with former prisoners and the superintendent's family, Riot Island aimed to uncover the truth behind the violent events and the questions surrounding the prison's operation and its tragic end.
