The series was a comedy, romance, and drama that aired in 2006. It was based on the shoujo manga Princess Princess by Mikiyo Tsuda and was set in an all-boys school with a tradition of boys dressing as princesses to ease tensions among students. The story followed Yutaka Mikoto, Shihoudani Yuujirou, and Kouno Tooru, who were chosen as this year's Princess team. Dissatisfied with the efforts of the current Princesses, Hanazono Otoya formed his own team of Dark Princesses to compete for the attention of their peers.
