Portrait Artist of the Year was a competition series that premiered in 2025, bringing together amateur and professional artists to compete in portraiture. Each episode featured nine artists who had just four hours to create a portrait of a well-known celebrity. Their work was then judged by three esteemed Australian art experts, including Bree Pickering, Abdul Abdullah, and Robert Wellington. The series aimed to showcase the creativity and storytelling involved in portrait painting, emphasizing both emerging talents and established professionals.

The show was hosted by Miranda Tapsell and Luke McGregor. The first season consisted of 8 episodes, all of which aired in November 2025.
