The show was a nature series that explored diverse marine environments around New Zealand, from Northland to Stewart Island. It featured the colourful and varied inhabitants of these ecosystems, highlighting their interactions and behaviors in their natural habitats. The series showcased aquatic animal dramas, including predator-prey encounters and the daily lives of marine species such as orcas, snapper, crayfish, dolphins, fur seals, and great white sharks.

Michael Hurst served as the narrator for the series.
