My World and Welcome to It was a comedy series that aired from September 15, 1969, to March 6, 1970. Set in Westport, Connecticut, the show depicted the real life and dream world of John Monroe, a cartoonist for Manhattanite magazine. The series combined live action and animation to portray Monroe's imaginative inner world, where his cartoons became real, and life was viewed through a humorous, fantastical lens. The series was based on the drawings and stories of humorist James Thurber and explored themes of imagination, personal struggle, and perception.
The show starred William Windom as John Monroe, Joan Hotchkis as Ellen Monroe, Lisa Gerritsen as Lydia Monroe, Harold J. Stone as Hamilton Greeley, and Henry Morgan as Philip Jensen.
