MPD Psycho was a Japanese drama, crime, and thriller miniseries that first aired in 2000. It was based on the manga Tajuu Jinkaku Tantei Saiko by Eiji Otsuka and Sho-U Tajima, and was directed by Takashi Miike. The show followed the story of Yosuke Kobayashi, a detective who, after witnessing his wife's murder by a serial killer, developed multiple personality disorder and assumed the identity Kazuhiko Amamiya. The series explored his quest for justice amid a series of murders and questions about the killer’s identity.
The show had a runtime of approximately 55 minutes per episode and consisted of a single season with six episodes, all aired in May 2000.
