Morita-san wa Mukuchi was a comedy anime series that premiered in July 2011. It depicted the daily life of Morita Mayu, a high school girl who was extremely reticent and often misunderstood because of her silence and direct gaze. Despite her quiet nature, she did not dislike talking; instead, she thought too much before speaking, which caused her to lose the right moment to speak, yet she enjoyed her school life with her classmates.

The series featured a cast including Kana Hanazawa as Mayu Morita, Haruka Tomatsu as Miki Murakoshi, and Saori Hayami as Chihiro Miura. The episodes were about five minutes long, focusing on humorous and relatable school interactions.
