Maximilian was a historical drama series that premiered in December 2016. It was set in the late 15th century and depicted the political and personal struggles following the death of Charles the Bold in 1477. The series focused on the marriage prospects of Charles's daughter and the conflicts between Austria's Emperor Frederick III and France's Louis XI, which led to battles and tragedy.

Each episode had a runtime of approximately 95 minutes. The first season consisted of three episodes, concluding in March 2017.
