The show was an action and adventure series aimed at children, set in a Chinese village where 9-year-old Kody learns he is destined to become the Village Defender. The series followed Kody as he faced off against the villain Mogo Monkey No Go and his monkey minions, causing chaos around town. With the help of his grandfather Master Li, his cousin Mei, and the tiger Goji, Kody used the Sapphire Dragon to transform into martial arts-style superheroes and protect his village.
Kody Kapow featured a cast including Jonathan Tan as Master Li, Jason Alexander as Goji, Joe Pingue as Ming, Neil Crone as Mogo, Jenna Warren as Mei, Scott Gorman as Baozi, Nissae Isen as Kody, and Shannon Hamilton as Tutu.
