Kekkaishi was an anime series that first premiered on October 16, 2006. It was a fantasy adventure that followed Yoshimori Sumimura, a young boy who was a Kekkaishi, tasked with exorcising monsters to protect people. The show depicted his struggles to become stronger and his rivalry with Tokine Yumikura, his childhood friend and fellow Kekkaishi, as they competed to be the heir to the Sumimura clan.

The cast included Hiroyuki Yoshino as Yoshimori Sumimura, Rie Saitou as Tokine Yukimura, and Daisuke Gori as Ichiro Ougi. The series featured a runtime of approximately 25 minutes per episode.
