Izumo -Takeki Tsurugi No Senki- was an action, adventure, fantasy anime that aired in 2005. It was based on the H-RPG by Studio ego and followed the story of Takeru Yagi, a student at Izumo Academy. After losing his parents as a child, Takeru was adopted by Touma Rokusuke and spent his days training in kendo and hanging out with friends like his rival Yamato Takeshi and childhood friend Shiratori Kotono. During a school trip, a mysterious incident caused a strange light and a woman to appear, leading to a sudden shift in reality and Takeru experiencing pain and a transformation. The students found themselves scattered across the school, which had become overgrown with vegetation and infested with insect monsters.

The show featured a cast including Hideki Ogihara as Yagi Takeru, Hiro Yuuki as Yamato Takeshi, Kumiko Yokote as Shiratori Kotono, and Noriko Rikimaru as Shiratori Asuka. The series had a runtime of approximately 25 minutes per episode.
