Gumiho: Tale of the Fox's Child was a historical fantasy thriller that first premiered on July 5, 2010. It was a story about the legendary nine-tailed fox, or gumiho, named Goo San Daek, who left her husband after betrayal. She took her young daughter, Yun Yi, to a village to protect her from the dangers associated with her gumiho heritage. The series followed Yun Yi as she approached her tenth birthday, during which her physical transformation began, risking her discovery by neighbors.
The series featured Han Eun Jung as Koo San Daek, Kim Yoo Jung as Yeon Yi, Jang Hyun Sung as Yun Doo Soo, and Seo Shin Ae as Yoon Cho Ok.
