Grass was a comedy series that premiered in 2003. It followed the story of Billy Bleach, who, after witnessing a gangland killing, was placed into the witness protection program. He was relocated from East London to a small country village, where he had to adopt a completely new identity as Peter Jones, a poet, and undergo rigorous training to maintain his cover. The series depicted Billy's efforts to navigate his new life while avoiding the ruthless gang boss Harry Taylor and prison.

The cast included Simon Day as Billy, Philip Jackson as DCI Maddox, Robert Wilfort as PC Harriet, and Tristan Gemmill as DI Veal.
