Golden Bowl was a drama, romance, and sports series that premiered on April 1, 2002. The story was set in a small, somewhat rundown bowling alley called the Golden Bowl, which was a favorite spot for stockbroker Shu Akutagawa. The series focused on Shu's experiences with bowling and his interactions with a beautiful, older, married neighbor named Hitomi Sakura. When Hitomi appeared at the alley, Shu found himself caught between his passion for the game and his personal feelings, especially as they teamed up to challenge professional bowlers.
The series starred Takeshi Kaneshiro as Shu Akutagawa and Hitomi Kuroki as Hitomi Sakura. It aired for 11 episodes, each approximately 60 minutes long, concluding its run in July 2002.
