Freaky Stories was a children's comedy series that aired from 1997 to 1999. It was a fantasy-themed show hosted by a cockroach named Larry de Bug and his sidekick Maurice the maggot, set in a 50s style diner. Each episode featured them sharing three urban legends, often introduced with the phrase "This is a true story, and it happened to a friend of a friend of mine." The stories were based on common folklore and urban myths, presented in a humorous and entertaining manner.
The series starred James Rankin as Larry de Bug and Dan Redican as Maurice Maggot. It had a runtime of 23 minutes per episode and received a rating of 5.8 on TVMaze.
