Flat Chat was a comedy series that premiered in 2001. It told the story of two very different women, a socialite and a bogan, whose lives changed when their circumstances were reversed. Socialite Claire Jansen was forced to sell her mansion after her husband's death, leaving her flat broke. She moved into the stables when the property was bought by a wealthy but vulgar man and his young wife, who was unfamiliar with high society. The series focused on their unlikely friendship as they navigated their new realities.
The cast included Jean Kittson as Claire Jansen, Alexandra Davies as Julie Coyne, and Richard Healy as Barry Coyne. The show featured a total runtime of 30 minutes per episode.
