Equador was a drama, romance, and history series set in 1905 Portugal. It followed Luis Bernardo Valença, a thirty-seven-year-old bachelor and owner of a small shipping company, whose life changed dramatically when King Dom Carlos appointed him as governor of the Portuguese colony of São Tomé e Príncipe. The series depicted the political and personal challenges faced by Luis Bernardo as he navigated his new responsibilities and the complexities of colonial life.

The show had a runtime of 50 minutes per episode.
