Engineering an Empire ended on January 8, 2007, on the History Channel. The show aired its final episode after its first season, which premiered on September 13, 2005. It is no longer in production or scheduled to return.

Engineering an Empire was a documentary series that explored the engineering achievements of some of the world's greatest civilizations. Hosted by Peter Weller, an actor and professor at Syracuse University, the series used computer graphics to illustrate the architectural, political, and cultural accomplishments of empires such as Rome, Egypt, Greece, Carthage, the Aztecs, and the Maya.
