Disgaea was an anime series based on the popular video game by Nippon Ichi. It was a fantasy story set in the Netherworld, where Laharl, the prince of the Netherworld, awoke after a two-year slumber to find his realm in chaos following his father's death. The show depicted Laharl's quest to reclaim his throne with the help of his father's former vassal, Etna, as he aimed to conquer the Netherworld and declare himself Overlord.
Each episode had a runtime of approximately 25 minutes. The show was part of the anime and fantasy genres and first premiered in 2006.
