Decline and Fall was a comedy-drama based on the novel by Evelyn Waugh, set in the 1920s. It told the story of Paul Pennyfeather, an innocent divinity student at Oxford who was wrongly expelled after being the victim of a prank. The series followed his subsequent life working at a Welsh public school and his encounters with various eccentric characters, including the wealthy Mrs Margot Beste-Chetwynde.

The show featured Jack Whitehall as Paul Pennyfeather, with David Suchet playing Dr. Fagan and Douglas Hodge as Captain Grimes. Eva Longoria appeared as Mrs Margot Beste-Chetwynde, and Vincent Franklin portrayed Mr. Pendergast. The series had a rating of 6.9 on TVMaze and each episode had a runtime of 60 minutes.
