Crossbones was a drama, action, and adventure series set in 1715 on the Bahamian island of Santa Campana, known as the first functioning democracy in the Americas. The story centered around the infamous pirate Edward "Blackbeard" Teach, who ruled over a rogue society of outlaws and pirates. The series depicted Blackbeard’s domain as a lawless, marauder’s paradise that posed a significant threat to international trade. The plot followed Tom Lowe, an undercover assassin sent to infiltrate Blackbeard’s crew with the goal of bringing him down. As Lowe got closer to Blackbeard, he found himself increasingly admiring the pirate’s political ideals and boundless pursuit of knowledge, which challenged his mission.

The cast included John Malkovich as Blackbeard, Richard Coyle as Tom Lowe, Claire Foy as Kate Balfour, Yasmine Al Massri as Selima El Sharad, David Hoflin as Charles Rider, Chris Perfetti as Tim Fletch, and Tracy Ifeachor as Nenna Ajanlekoko. The series had a rating of 6.9 on TVMaze and each episode had a runtime of 60 minutes.
