The Cotton Bowl Classic is an American college football bowl game that has been held annually since January 1, 1937. It has a long history of hosting top teams from the Big 12 and Southeastern Conference, and since 2014, it has served as a College Football Playoff semifinal. The game was traditionally played at its namesake stadium in Dallas, Texas, before moving to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington in 2010. The 2015 edition was part of the 2015–16 bowl season, culminating in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
