It followed Itsuki, a high school student who, on his graduation day, was transported to the world of Granvania through a mysterious gate of light. In this new land, he was tasked with producing "Star Children" to fight against "Impurities" threatening the stars and restoring peace to Granvania. The story centered on Itsuki's journey to fulfill his destiny and find a way back home.
