Christy was a drama and family series that aired from 1994 to 1995, based on the bestseller by Catherine Marshall. It told the story of a young woman named Christy Huddleston who, at nineteen, left her city life to teach in the impoverished Appalachian community of Cutter Gap, Tennessee, in 1912. The show depicted her journey of faith, strength, and determination as she faced various challenges, gained an understanding of the mountain people, and built relationships with the community and two men.
The series starred Kellie Martin as Christy Huddleston, with Stewart Finlay-McLennan playing Dr. Neil MacNeill, Tyne Daly as Alice Henderson, and Randall Batinkoff as Rev. David Grantland. Each episode was approximately 60 minutes long.
