Castaway was a drama, action, and adventure series that was a sequel to Trapped. It followed a group of kids led by Ryan Cavener who, after reaching a research island, discovered their parents had been kidnapped by the unstable Dr. Hamilton. Over six months, the children remained on the island, hoping for rescue or their parents' return. When no help arrived, they built a raft to reach civilization, but their stormy crossing ended in failure, leaving them stranded once again.

The series had a runtime of 30 minutes per episode and consisted of 26 episodes in its single season.
