The series was set in Milan in 1640 during the Thirty Years War and followed the intertwined lives of twin brothers, Ippolito and Ferrante Albizzi. After a family feud led to tragedy and the death of their father, the brothers' paths diverged dramatically. Ippolito was arrested and forced into espionage, serving under Cardinal Richelieu as Alexandre Du Bois. Meanwhile, Ferrante escaped to the Caribbean, joining a pirate crew under the alias Malasorte, and eventually became the heir of the pirate Coda del Diavolo.
Caraibi was an action-adventure series that aired in 1999. It depicted their adventures and struggles across different worlds—one caught in political intrigue in Europe, the other sailing the high seas as a pirate. The show combined historical settings with fictional elements, creating a story of loyalty, betrayal, and survival during turbulent times.
