Built to Last was a comedy series that premiered in 1997. It depicted the life of Royale Watkins, an Ivy League graduate who, after his father’s heart attack, reluctantly took over the family contracting business in Washington, D.C., instead of pursuing a promising computer career in California. The series focused on Royale’s interactions with his family members, including his fun-loving sibling Randal, outspoken Tammy, and the no-nonsense mother Sylvia, along with his older brother Robert, an architect, and the youngest Ryce.
The cast included Royale Watkins played by Royale Watkins himself, Geoffrey Owens as Robert Watkins, Juan Pope as Randal Watkins, Natalie Desselle as Tammy Watkins, Jeremy Suarez as Ryce Watkins, Paul Winfield as Russel Watkins, and Denise Dowse as Sylvia Watkins.
