Is Blackout coming back?
Blackout (1988–1988) on CBS
About Blackout
Blackout ended on April 1, 1988, on CBS. The show aired its final episode after its run from January 4 to April 1, 1988. There are no scheduled episodes or plans for a revival at this time.
Blackout was a game show in which two teams, each composed of a contestant and a celebrity, competed to solve word puzzles. Each puzzle consisted of a sentence or paragraph with four missing words. One team member described a missing word, and the contestant listened to the description. The opposing team could use a "blackout" button to mute parts of the clue, making it more difficult to guess. Correct guesses earned money and a chance to solve the main puzzle. The winners then moved to a bonus round called "Clue Screen," where they had a limited time to guess up to five subjects based on clues, with the goal of winning the top prize.
The show was hosted by Bob Goen and aired for one season with a total of 65 episodes. Each episode had a runtime of approximately 30 minutes.
