Is Berlin Noir coming back?

Set in Weimar-era Berlin, Berlin Noir was a planned drama and crime series based on Philip Kerr's novel Metropolis. The story was to follow Bernie Gunther's early career as he rose through the ranks of the Berlin Murder Squad. The series was set against a backdrop of a city experiencing both newfound freedoms and growing political unrest, with the shadow of the Nazi party looming. It aimed to explore themes of truth, justice, and survival as Bernie navigated a society on the brink of radical change, where the rules were shifting and moral boundaries blurred.

The cast was to feature Jack Lowden as Bernie Gunther and Colin Firth as Paul Lohser.
