The series was a science-fiction and romance drama that aired from 2012 to 2016. It was a modern take on the classic fairy tale, centered around Detective Catherine Chandler who, as a teenager, witnessed her mother's murder and was saved by a mysterious figure. As an adult, Catherine investigates a murder that leads her to Vincent Keller, who was believed to have been killed in 2002. She discovers that Vincent is alive and has been living in hiding to protect his secret — when enraged, he transforms into a beast with superhuman strength and heightened senses.

The show starred Kristin Kreuk as Catherine Chandler, Jay Ryan as Vincent Keller, and Nina Lisandrello as Tess Vargas. It had a rating of 7.3 on TVMaze and each episode ran approximately 60 minutes.
