About Banzai

Banzai ended on 2002-01-09. The show aired its final episode on that date on E4.

Banzai was a comedy gambling game show that aired from 2001 to 2002. It was a parody of Japanese game shows and general television styles, featuring a series of silly or bizarre contests. Members of the viewing audience were encouraged to bet with each other on the outcomes of each segment, adding a humorous twist to the program. The show included Japanese characters on screen, which were intentionally meaningless, emphasizing its parody nature.

The series was produced by Radar, part of RDF Media, and consisted of two seasons with a total of 18 episodes. The cast included Burt Kwouk as the Commentator, Eiji Kusuhara also as a Commentator, Jit Loi Chong as Cheeky Chappie, Shizuka Hata as Lady One Question, Tadao Tomomatsu as Shake Hands Man 2, Ryozo Kohira as Shake Hands Man, and Masashi Fujimoto as Mr. Banzai. The episodes had a runtime of approximately 30 minutes each. Since the show has ended, no new episodes are scheduled to air.
