BanG Dream! was an anime series that premiered on January 21, 2017. It was a music-themed show that followed Kasumi Toyama, a high school girl searching for the "Star Beat" sound she heard as a child. When she discovered a star-shaped guitar in an old pawn shop, she felt a new sense of excitement. She then teamed up with four other girls to form a band and perform live music, aiming to find the shining place that inspired her.

The series featured a cast of voice actors portraying the band members, including Aimi as Kasumi Toyama, Ayaka Ohashi as Saaya Yamabuki, and Ayasa Itō as Arisa Ichigaya. The show had an episode runtime of approximately 30 minutes.
