Is Bakumatsu Rock coming back?

It was a musical action comedy anime series that aired in 2014. The story was set in the Bakumatsu era, at the end of the shoguns' rule over Japan in the mid-19th century. In this fictionalized Japan, the Tokugawa shogunate used the brainwashing Heaven's Songs by top idols in the Shinsengumi to control the population, making singing or writing any other songs a capital offense. The series followed Sakamoto Ryouma and other rebellious rockers who rose up to challenge this oppressive regime with rock 'n' roll, fighting for freedom and justice.

The show featured a cast including Kishō Taniyama as Ryōma Sakamoto, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Toshizō Hijikata, Shotaro Morikubo as Kogorō Katsura, Kensho Ono as Sōji Okita, and Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Shinsaku Takasugi. The series consisted of a single season with 12 episodes, each approximately 25 minutes long.
