Ayaka was a fantasy drama and mystery anime that told the story of Yanagi Yukito, an orphan who was taken to Ayakashima by a disciple of his father. The island, made up of seven smaller islands, was rumored to be home to mysterious beings called "Mitama" and dragons. Yukito’s journey involved meeting his father’s other disciples and uncovering the fragile balance that kept the island's harmony, which was increasingly threatened.

The show featured a cast led by Yūto Uemura as Yanagi Yukito, with Takuma Terashima, Kousuke Toriumi, Yuichiro Umehara, Gakuto Kajiwara, Yui Sakakibara, Kana Hanazawa, and Kenjiro Tsuda in supporting roles.
