The story was set in a world where every 30 years, a princess from the Hime family was chosen to serve the Hayagami. The plot centered around a 15-year-old boy named Arata, who was the only female candidate born in recent records, but he was actually male and had to disguise himself. During a festival, he witnessed the murder of the current princess, Kokuri-hime, and found himself falsely accused of her murder, leading to a tense chase through the Imperial Court.
