The show was a drama and romance series that aired in 2004. It followed Gary Scant, a Nottingham-based painter and decorator, whose seemingly perfect life was upended after a night out with friends. Following a drunken mistake and a realization that his relationship with his girlfriend Mel might not be right for him, Gary embarked on a journey to find his true soulmate. Throughout his quest, he was supported by his close friend Paula, who understood him well.

The series starred Paul Nicholls as Gary Scant, alongside Ben Miles, Liz White, Andrea Lowe, Karl Collins, Paul Henshall, and Roy Barraclough. The show ran for a single season of six episodes, each approximately 60 minutes long.
