A More or Less Perfect Union ended on January 26, 2020, on PBS.
This three-part series examined some of the most contentious issues in American history and contemporary society through the lens of the U.S. Constitution. The show explored how the Framers established fundamental freedoms in writing, how subsequent amendments expanded those freedoms to all citizens, and the ongoing efforts to preserve the rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
The series was hosted by Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg, a recognized authority on the Constitution with 30 years of experience on the Federal Court of Appeals. Throughout the show, a diverse group of experts, including conservatives, progressives, and libertarians, debated key issues related to liberty, such as freedom of religion and press, slavery, civil rights, the Second Amendment, and separation of powers. Each episode was approximately 60 minutes long.
