Jill Wendy Dando was an English journalist, television presenter and newsreader. She was shot dead outside her home in Fulham, south-west London, on 26 April 1999. Barry George was convicted of Dando's murder but acquitted after an appeal and retrial. Dando presented the BBC One programme Crimewatch with Nick Ross at the time of her death.
