Untitled The 1619 Project docuseries
is a history that originally aired on Hulu
The 1619 Project aims to reframe the country's history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the center of the U.S. national narrative. The project also developed an educational curriculum, supported by the Pulitzer Center, accompanied by a broadsheet article, live events, and a podcast. The first publication stemming from the project was in August 2019 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Virginia.
