Gabrielle Venora Petito, 22, was killed by her fiancé Brian Christopher Laundrie in August 2021. The case gained widespread attention due to the couple's documenting of their travels on social media. Petito's remains were found in Wyoming's Bridger–Teton National Forest on September 19, 2021. It was confirmed by an autopsy on November 23 that he had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
