The Deuce is an American drama television series set in New York City during the 1970s and 1980s. The show's title is derived from the nickname for 42nd Street between Seventh Avenue and Eighth Avenue. It tells the story of the Golden Age of Porn, the legalization and rise of the porn industry. Themes explored include navigating a culture of extreme misogyny, government and police corruption, the violence of the drug epidemic, and the real-estate booms and busts.
Set during the 1970s and 1980s in New York City, the show is set in Times Square. Twin brothers Vincent and Frankie Martino become fronts for the Mafia. Eileen "Candy" Merrell exits the dangers of the street by entering the legal porn industry.
