The series stars Rhea Seehorn, who worked with Vince Gilligan on the AMC series Better Call Saul. The title of the series refers to e pluribus unum, a Latin phrase meaning 'out of many, one' Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the series follows author Carol Sturka, who is one of only 13 people in the world immune to the effects of "the Joining", resulting from an extraterrestrial virus that had turned humans into a peaceful hive mind (the Others)
