Joran van der Sloot was born in the Dutch city of Arnhem. He was born August 6, 1987. He is the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. In 2010, he confessed to the murder of Stephany Flores Ramírez in Lima, Peru. On January 13, 2012, he was sentenced to 28 years' imprisonment for Flores's murder. An additional 18 years were added to his sentence for trafficking cocaine while in prison. On October 18, 2023, he admitted to killing Holloway.
