NY Ink is an American reality documentary television series. It debuted on June 2, 2011 on TLC. The series is based on tattoo artist Ami James, who moved to New York City in 2011 to fulfill his dream of opening a new tattoo studio. TLC renewed the series for a second season in August 2011.
