The series, in three parts, chronicles the life of George Washington, the first President of the United States from the age of 11 to 51. Barry Bostwick and Patty Duke Astin reprising their roles as George Washington and Martha Washington, respectively. In 1986, a sequel, George Washington II: The Forging of a Nation, aired.
