Joseph Antonio Cartagena was born August 19, 1970 in the Bronx, New York. He is an American rapper, known as Fat Joe da Gangsta. He was a member of D.I.T.C. hip hop group Diggin' in the Crates Crew in 1992. His debut album, Represent, was released in 1993, and his third studio album, Jealous One's Envy (1995) was followed by Jealous Ones Still Envy. His 2004 single "Lean Back" peaked atop the chart and remains his most commercially successful release.
