Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve
originally aired on ABC
Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve is an annual television special broadcast by ABC. The special was created by Dick Clark in 1972 to compete with Guy Lombardo's CBS big band broadcasts. The first two editions were broadcast by NBC, and hosted by George Carlin and Three Dog Night. In 1974–75, the program moved to its current home of ABC, and Clark assumed the role of host.
