American Gods is an American fantasy drama television series based on Neil Gaiman's 2001 novel of the same name. The first season of the series premiered on April 30, 2017. The series received two Emmy Awards for its visual style and acting. It received three nominations at the 8th Critics' Choice Television Awards, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama Series for Ian McShane. In March 2021, the series was canceled after three seasons.
