All in the Family is an American television sitcom that aired on CBS from 1971 to 1979. It starred Carroll O'Connor, Jean Stapleton, Sally Struthers, and Rob Reiner. The show was the most watched show in the United States during the summer reruns of the first season. It was later produced as Archie Bunker's Place, a continuation series, which ran for four seasons through 1983. The series became arguably one of television's most influential comedic programs.
All in the Family centers on a working-class White American family living in Queens, New York. The show is set in the Astoria section of Queens, with the vast majority of scenes taking place in the Bunkers' home at 704 Hauser Street. Supporting characters represent the changing demographics of the neighborhood.
